Frequency and Voltage AC Power Source Lab
In this lab you will be learning how to measure voltages and frequencies of different power sources using a digital meter and an oscilloscope.
When you are ready to start, click the begin button.
Begin
Start by recording the listed output voltage and frequency of your power pack.
Then click on the power pack to plug it in.
If you have trouble reading the power pack, zoom in with your web browser.
Alternatively, you can switch from a power pack to a function generator.
Switch To Function Generator
When measuring voltage with a digital meter of an AC power source, you will get just a single reading.
The voltages are changing continually, so the meter displays just a single voltage for that source.
Think about why it would make no sense to give the average voltage.
What voltage is it displaying?
Click on the frequency setting if you want to measure the frequency of your signal.
