Maximum Height of Projectile from Energy
Ground to Ground Soccer Kick Problem
In this problem you must determine the maximum height reached by a projectile using the ideas of energy conservation. Start by finding the kinetic energy of the ball at the moment of launch. Then determine how much kinetic energy the projectile still maintains when it has reached the highest point of its flight. From this should should be able to determine how much energy has been turned to gravitational energy and thus the height of the ball. You will be given the mass of the ball as well as the velocity (speed and angle) of the ball when it is kicked. You will also be told the gravitational field strength on the planet where the ball is kicked.
